Wellington Land Board

The Land Board met on Thursday. Present -Mr J. W. A. Marchant (Commissioneri in the chair, Messrs A, \V. Hogs and H, A. Fidd, M's H.R. The following applications for titles were approved :— F. Tussel, Oneo. It was resolved to issuo the following freehold titles on statutory declarations being put in showing sufficient improvement effected to comply with the conditions of the Act : -G. T. Taylor, Ongo ; G. Bambrid»e and E. W. Haycock, Apiti. The following transfers were ap-proved:-From G Ayre to J. Powell, Ongo; G. P. Church to W. D. M. Banks, Apiti ; L. A. Williams to A. T. Campbell, Hautapn ; P. J. McCann to H. C. Berry and H. D. Trevena, Mangaweka, E. J. Doak to R. Tout, Umutoi ; R. Archer to E. J. Doak, Mangahao ; J. T. Entwistle to E. F. Eagar, Umutoi. It was resolved to cancel the lease of section 47, block 8, Pohangina, to enable two new leases to ißSue for the subdivisions, also to approve of the school cite being excluded from the new leasp. R, Chin's interest in section 13, Pakihikuru Village Settlement was forfeited for non fulfilment of conditions. W. Parker's interest in section 13 same block were forfeited for a similar reasonThe following cancellation of selec tor's interest was rescinded, the conditions of the Act having being complied with :— J. Bryant, Hautapu. On the representation of the Crown Land Ranger it was decided to hold section 29, PoDgaroa V-S , back from sale for the present. It was decided to fix £10 2s 6d as the amount with which section 36, block 10, Hautapu, should be weighted, and unless the money was paid, to hand it over to the late selector (Mr J. Brydon), less the usual cost to the Department. The valuation of improvements on section 7, black 10, Hautapu S.F., was fixed at £1. A resolution allowing Messrs Peters and Co. a yearly license to occupy section 8, block 3, Taihape, was rescinded. The Commissioner submitted a schedule of costs received for improvements on forfeited sections resold, and it was resolved to pay the amounts to the persons entitlid to them, with the usual deductions. , In connection with a letter from H. Roots for a farther extention of time in which to take up his residence on his section (18, block 16) the Ranger was asked to attend to the matter. The Kiwitea County Council wrote suggesting that the forfeited sections in the Marton blocks be re- offered for sale in larger holdings. The Board resolved to point out that it was competent for applicants to apply for several contiguous sections.— N.Z, Times.
