As it seems so difficult to got feuciuf Btuff it is time the settlers began toplanl live f«nces. . .-,,,, , ■, The entertainment in aid of tue lunde of the Birmingham school took place on Saturday «v«uing when there was a fail attendance. The feature of the evening was the limelight manipulated by Mr Anyon. Stanley's crossing of the Dark Continent with the Emin Pasha relief expedition was shown, the Rev. Mr Griffin supplying the explanatory nar> rative. Miss M. Rowles then recited " Mary Queen of Scots," some splendid views illustrative of the poem being thrown upon the screen. Mr Fowler sang two comic songa in his usual happy style. Mr W. Whisbaw in Highland costume performed a step dance in a capital manner and Mrs Palmer gave pianoforte selections, A terrible storm broke over the town ship last night.
