Tho latest wire tbe Union Company have received re the Wainui, from Cape Lambert, is: "Beached Wsinui W«i> kawa Boy, 12ft to 14ft water alongside ; ieskoge fore part ; making no water ; boat lay alongside and can tnke all cargo ; think a diver could effect temporary repairs." The Union Company intends to recall the Herald from Taranaki, and she, in conjunction with the Mawhera, will keep up the West Coast running. This arrangement will bold good for th« present week. If the damage to the Wainui thould take some liuis to repair, fresh plans for the running ot Ihe steamers will probably have to be mapped out from next wvek,
