The following races were rnn after we went to prcns on Saturday afternoon :— Huoters' Steeplechase —Rambler 1. Coastguard 2. Fleet wood also started. Winter Oats —Voltaire 1, Mauser 2, Kaltnea 3. All started. Muscatel and Mauser were in the lead to the turn, when they were joined by Kalmia, but in the straight Voltaire shot up and snatched a victory by a neck. Time, lmin f>6sec. Dividend, Jt'l3 7s. Hunt Club Ladies' Bracelet—King of the Downes 1, Tricky Jack 2, Coastguard 3. Won very easily. Dividend, £1 Bs. Hack Race - Swordtish 1, The Guardsman 2, Vaseline 3. All started but Sundial, Awatere and Raupo 11, Won comfortably at the finish. Time, lmin 21sec. Dividend, .£5 9s. A protest was lodged that the borne is in the forfeit list. The following is the rssult of the Grand National Steeplechase, 3 mile 9 - Hayseed 1- Vigil '2, Confidence 3. There were 12 starters. The post betting was :— 6to 1 agst Zouroff and Tituoni, 8 to 1 Woo uooke, Reveril and Hayseed, 10 to 1 to 20 to 1 others. Won by a couple of lengths. Woonooke who fell bad to be destroyed. Time, 6min 41Jsec.
