Shipping Freights.

(Per Press Association.) Wellington, July 10. In reply to statements at the Produo ers' Conference, the representatives here of the Shaw, Savill and the New Zealand Shipping Companies state that the rates are exaggerated and that the freights in Australia quoted only refer to off season reductions. They have already offered the amount of £120,000 per annum on meat and over 1:50,000 on wool, and it is uncertain whether a satisfactory ser vice can be maintained in these rates.
