A Sad Suicide.
(Per Press Association.) Curistcjiurcii, July 8. A case of drowning occurred shortly before 4 o'clock this afternoon. W. Hoskins, while riding along the river road, noticed a well dressed elderly woman behaving in a strange manner, apparently taking off ber clothes. Presently he observed the woman in the stream, called two young men who were passing aloup, and then rode to the Richmond Police Station aud mii formed Constable Llewellen, who has* tened to tbe spot. In the meantime tho body floated to tbo bank, on to which it had been drawn. Dr Jennings pronounced life to be extinct. The body, on being removed to the Star and Garter Hotel, was identified as that of Mrs Richardson, widow of the late Rev Richardson, Wesleyan minister. When tbe body was taken from tbe water the feet were tied together and there was a handkerchief round tbe head.
