(Per Press Association.) Wellington, July 7 The Railway Department is giving consideration to the ropresentations whioh have been made by the New Zealand Cyclists' Touring Club at to the necessity which exists for a better means of carrying bicycles by rail. Drawings of a special van for the conveyance of machines are being prepared, but the Department has not yet decided whether such a car would fully tueoc lha requirements. The Department is haviug a few crates of special pattern made for use on the Canterbury line*, and if the experiment is « tacctis similar crates will be available for cyclists at all the principal stations in the colony on payment of a uooderatt fee.
