Several prominent members of tbe New Zealand Cyclists' Alliance have | drawn up a scheme to be submitted to tbe affiliated clubs, by which tbe Alii, ance riders arc divided into two classee, oue taking casb as prizes and the other trophies, bat both competing in tbe same races. Promoters of this scheme anticipate that they will gain control over all the cycling races in New Zealand. Tbe other' amateur bodies bore are strongly iudiguant at the contemplated action of tbe Alliance. E. A, Archer broke tho 50-mile road record yesterday. Time, 2 tutus 32mia.
