(Per Press Association.} Melbourne, July 3. Tbe Supreme Court has sanctioned tbe reduction of tbe capital of Howard Smith and Sons from £1,000,000 (of which £50,000 is paid up) to £250.000. Tbe holders of over £2,000,000 of 4 per cent, stock have now availed themselves of tbe opportunity to convert it into 3 par cents. The balance of about only £100,000 remains nuconverted. Adelaide, July 3. Tbe sum of £60,000 has been paid in succession duty in connection with tbe late Sir Thomas Elder's estate. Brisbane, July 2.
