Last Bession Parliament sanctioned the redemption of the 4 per cent, inscribed stock issued during the past 25 years, giving holders the alternative of converting it into new 3 per cent, within six months. So far the holders of £1,000,000 worth of stock havo converted. The conversion means an annual saving of £22,000 in interest. Adelaide, This Day. The Executive confirmed the death sentence of Eeard. He will bo executed on the 10th. Sydney, This Day. Eastern news— Latest reports show the rebellion against the Spanish authorities in the Phillipines is practically stamped out. The chief provinces have been re conquered and the rebels still under arms have retired to the mountains. At a luncheon of ship owners, the President regretted New Zealand was not so well represented this year. Mr Humpden deplored Mr Eddy's death, and eulogised his successful management of the railways which had reduced the expenses over eleyen per oent without raising rates.
