In a suit brought by the Bank of New Zealand against the Guthtie and allied Companies the Bank claims on behalf of the Bank and other debentures holders a declaration that the debentures have a first charge on the whole of the assets of the four companies and to have the char go enforced by sale or otherwise under order of tbe Court. Auckland, July 1. An examination of tbe s.s. Anglian's screw, made by a diver, resulted in the discovery that two blades and a half of her propellor head were broken off. Owing to the delay, rendered necessary by the repairs to the propellor, her departure for southern ports has been postponed until further notice. A case of alleged sly grog selling was heard on Monday at Raglan, before Captain Jackson, S.M., against Thomas Turnbull, storekeeper at Kawbia, namely of selling a bottle of whiskey to a Maori. The case wai dismissed. The Maori, who is alleged to have got tbe wbiskey, was one of the natives recently fined for sly-grog selling at Kawbia. Constable Dunthell has been awarded £5 by tbe Police Department for saving the life of a woman. Napier, July 1. The Supreme Court has beeu three days trying William Wilson and John Fitzgerald, two young men charged with the murder of their station mate, named James Mackintosh, who was robbed and received injuries from which he died. The case is expected to finish to-morrow night.
