A Point of Interest to Educational Boards.

(Per Press Association.) Auckland, Juno 30. At a meeting of tbo Board of Govern- ' ors of the Auckland College and Grammar School, the correspondence included a memo, from the Auditor-General in connection with the Board's balance sheet, taking exception to several items. Amongst tb,ese was an item of £Si paid to the Rev Canon Nelson, for seavices rendered as acting-master at the Grammar School while the Governors were securing the services of a new master. The Auditor General considered that the Rev Ilr Nelson could not justifiably take the money, as be was a member of the Board of Governors at the time, and should refund it. It was decided to reply that the local Bodies Contracts Act did nob apply to the Board of Governors, and there was nothing to prevent the i Rev Mr Nelson from beiag legally employed by tbe Board.
