(to the editor.; Sik, — In answer to the letter in yesterday's issucjsigued " A Parent," asking the Colyton School Committee to explain why the names of those children who failed were not published as well as those who passed, I, on behalf of the Committee, beg to give the following information : Tho names of those who pass are often (but by no means always) published, the reason beiDg the pleasure this affords to the scholars and to their friends. The publication is not official, If " A Parent " is anxious to know why this is so, and why the names of those who fail are never published, he will find an explanation, given by the Inspectors, in their annual report to the Board for the year 1593.
