Startling scenes occurred in the Reichsrath during a debate on the ernes tion compelling the officials in the parts of Bohemia inhabited by the Czechs (tho most westerly branch of the greal Slavic nations) and Germans to make themselves cognisant with both langu ages. The Opposition .violently menaced Count Badeni, and hurled inkstands at the President and smashed the desks. The scenes, which were characterised by the use of the coarsest invectives, lasted for honra. ,
