London, May 20The reserves of noles and coin of the B-ink of England for the week ending May 19 is £26,291,000, ns ogiinst ,£26,512,000 last WGfk, and £87,67-2,000 for the corresponding week of lust year. HtJiiip is unchanged. Frozen meat is unchanged. The English whent market shows a general declne of 6d. Continentnl is declining', and American is declining find weak. Ooliforuiun No. 1 milling wheat is 31s 6d, no change since last week-. ■^'oo] to diy met w'.ih splendid sale. There was good compaction nil round, wall prices in favor of sellers. The Brad ford market is hurdeuing. The sales close to dny. :• THE STOCK MARKET. Mr Charles Oarr reports:— At Feilding on Friday 21st inst. sheep came forward greatly iv excess of numbers advertised, ahout 7000 sheep and 100 head of cattle were yarded. Bidding for sheop was very brisk, resultiug in the clearance of all but two pens. Wetbors sold at last sale's rates, but fat ewes and hoggets were full a shilling a bead higher. A few pens of cattle were sold at prices iv favour of purchasers. The prices obtained were : ■ Cattle - Fat cows, £3 ; weaners, Ids ; yearlings, 20s ; 2 to 2J year steers, 40s to 575 ; 24- year heifers, 40s. Sheep— Wethers, Bs, 8s sd, 8s 6d, 8s 9d, 8s lOd, 9s. 9s 4d, 9s tid, 9s 7d ; lambs, 2s 7d, 4s sd, 4s 9d, 5a 10d, 6s, 6s Id, 6s 6d, 7s 3d, 7s 4d, 7s 6d ; empty ewes, 8s to 7s 3d ; fat ewes, 7s 3d to Ss 5d ; ewes in lamb, 5s to 8s 2d. Messrs Gorton and Son report:— Wo held our usual monthly sale at Hunterville on Thursday last, and, notwithstanding the very unpleasant weather, the sale was the most successful we have beld in these yards for some time pas-t. A wood enquiry was noticeable for young catt'e and suitable store sheep, everything changing bands but one pen of empty ewes of inferior class. We quote : - Weaners, 2os Grl ; yearlings, 30s ; yearling and 18 months steers, 38s; 2 years steers, £2 2s 6d ; store wethers (small), 8s 7d ; empty ewes, 6s lOd Mr Mathew Henry reports on his Palmerston sale : Both sheep and cattle were below the average in point of numbers on Thursday. The attendance of farmers and others, both local and from a distance, was better tban of late, among them being a good number of buyers, who, however, beld off for some unapparent - reason, the most of tbe business done being after the auction. Quotations as under: — Cattle— 2 yr steers 10s. ISmos steers and heifers, LI 17s to LI 18s, ■weavers, 10s to 16s. Sheep— Good Lincoln wethers, 9s 3d to 9s 6d, others, 8s Bd, ewes in lamb,' mixed ages, Bs.
