Stock, Wool, and Produce Markets.
THE STOCK MARKET. Messrs Gorton and Son report :— Since last report we held sales at Marfcon, Saudon and Hnntervillo. At Marton sheep came forward in usual numbers and all changed hands, but two lots. Cattle were made up of fat cows and were sold in favour of buyers. At Sandon sheep and cattle were both short of advertised numbers, but all stock sold at late rates, one pea only being turned out unsold. At Hunterville on Thursday last wo held a sale of surplus stock from Silverhope estate on acconnt of Mr R. Aldworth. The cattle, of first class quality, failed to find buyers. Sheep, however, realized full rates and were all sold. We quote — At Marton— Fat cows, L 3 to L 3 ss; empty ewes, 5s 2d to 6s 6d ; small merino wethers, 4s. Sandon — Small lambs, 3s 8d ; empty ewes, 5s 7d ; weaners, 18s ; yearling*, 25s 6d ; 18moa steers, 21s. Hunterville— On account Silverhope estate, 2 tooth wethers, 8s 3d ; small do, 7s 3d, f.m. ewes, 4s 3d ; cull lambs, 2s 7d ; fat cows, L 3 3s.
