(Per Press Association.! Wellington, May, 5. The Post says it bas th» best authority for stating that overtures have been made by tho Premier to a prominent official connected with one of the leading Australian banks doing bnsiness in this Colouy, witli the object of inducing him to take the position of General Manager of tho Bank of New Zealand. The gentleman approached (who is said to be in every way qualified for the office), has made certain representations which are now under consideration by the authorities of the Bank of New Zealand. _____
