Messrs Laery and Go. report under date May Ist:— Batter— Satisfactory business has been done with Australia during the week, and values show a slight improvement in consequenre of the demand experienced from that quarter. We quote : Prime Separator, lOd : ordinary 9d ; dairy, 7d to 7 id ; pastry, 4d to sd ; storekeepers' milled butter, fid to 7d per lb, according to quality and condition. Cheese— New (40s), 4d to 4Jd; loaf (slow of sale), 4£d per lb. Poultry— Fowls, 2s 6d; docks, 8s; geese, 4s ; turkeys, 7s per pair. Eggs— Fresh, Is lOd ; limed, Is Id per dozen. Hams and bacon — Choice factorycored bams, 7£d ; bacon, 6£d per lb. Wheat— Fair demand. We quotePrime milling nominally, 4s 3d ; prime whole fowl wheat, 3s lid per bushel. Oats— Market Btrong. We quotePrime short feed, 2s 6d ; Dans, 2s 8d ; Danish, 2s sd ; Tartarian (seed), 2s 8d per bushel. Cocksfoot — Nothing doing. Our quo. tations are nominal. We quote—Farmers' heavy undressed seed, 8d per lb at country stations ; extra heavy, Bjd. Eyegrass— Extra heavy machine dresst d, 4s 6d ; good, 4s to 4s 3d ; medium to good, 3s 3d to 3s 9d per bushel, Fungus — 3d per lb. Sheep skins— We quote country cross* bred skins, medium to fine quality, wellsaved pelts, 6^d ; extra choice lines, f nilwoolled, Sfd ; half to three-quarter woolled, well-saved, 4-Jd to 5d ; fair to medium, 3d to 4£d ; best country merinos, f ull-woolled, 4|d to sd ; ordinary to good, 4d to 4Jd per lb. Hides— Extra heavy ox hides, well flayed, 18s to 20s ; plump heavy, 16s to 17s 6d ; medium, 10s to 14s ; cow hides, extra heavy, 6s to 9s 6d ; medium, 7s to 7s 6d.
