Railway Accident.

(Per Press Association) Wellington, May 8. The morning down train from the Wairarapa ran off the rails in the hills two miles north of Kaitoke, and a special had to be sent from the Upper Hutt to bring the passengers on to town. Tbe accident happened through some of the rails on which platelayers had been at work being loose. There were three passenger carriages, and all went off the line, the engine remaining fast. One of the carriages was badly smashed, and the passengers got | out through ita roof, Most of the people on board were severely shaken, but apparently no one was seriously hurt, except one woman whose shoulder was dislocated.
