STOCK REPORT.
Messrs Gorton and Son report as follows .- — On Tuesday and Wednesday last we held our usual monthly sale at Marton and Sandon respectively. At Marton more stock than were entered came forward and we had to use Mr Beckett's yards (kindly lent for the occasion) to accommodate the extra stock. Tho class of sheep yarded was from medium to inferior, bidding was dull. Only the better sorts changing hands at auction, however only a few pens eventually left the yards unsold. At Sandon the day following the class of stock was of a betclass and bidding brisker in consequence and we succeeded in quitting all yarded bnt two pens of sheep and one of cattle. We quote: — At Marton — Yearling and 15-xnonths steers, i' 2 ; lambs, 4s 7d to 4s 8d ; small woolly do., 8s 7d ; empty ewes, 4s 6d, 4s 7d, 4s 8d ; forward do., 6s Id ; cull do., 3s 7d to 3s lOd ; 2 and 4-tooth wethers, 7s lid. At Sandon —Small weaners, 11s 6d to IBs 6d ; 18-montha heifers, £1 ; fat ewes 6s lOd ; lambs, 5s 2d ; empty ewes, 4s 6d, 4s 9d, ss, and 5s 6d ; 2 tooth ewes in lamb 6s 3d ; mixed aged ewes in lamb, 4s 6d. __________________
