Social to Rev. W. Keall.

— v An invitation social was held in the Wesleyan Sunday school room last evening, when about seventy persons were present, as a suitable " send off " to the Rev. W. Keall, who has been in charge ef the Sandou- Feilding circuit for the past three years, and who leaves for his new circuit at Blenheim on Friday next. The room was tastefully arranged as a parlor with pictures, scrolls, chairs, fcables, &c. Mr J. G. Cobbe, circuit steward, presided and in a brief and appropriate address stated the objects of the gathering. During the evening vocal and instrumental selections were given by Mrs James, MrsHarrisGß, Mrs Wood, and Messrs James and Harrison, a»d .a racy address was given by Mr Jas. Wood who reviewed Mr Keall's work in the circuit. Mr W. Carthew, on behalf of the church and congregation, expressed i their regret at Mr Keall's departure and presented that gentleman with a purse of sovereigns as a token of their good will. The Rev. Mr I£eajl suitably acknowledged the gift. Mr Wood go behalf of the congregation, took advantage of the gathering to welcome Mrs Harrison to Feilding and presented her with a fancy table and tray. The Rev Mr Harrison thanked Mr Wood and the congregation on behalf of Mrs Harrison, for their kindness and gift. • &ur£ng the interval of half an hour refreshments were handed round by the ladies' and the gathering dispersed.
