A Trade Dispute

The Conciliation Board met this morninig to hear evidence and argument in the matter in dispute between the Cbristchsrch Builders' Association and the Amalgamted Society of Carpenters and Joiners. "Th<? particulars of the dispute were that on the 22nd M^rch, 1897, the Association failed to comply with the requirements of the unions that tho rate of wages bo advanced from 9s to 10s per day, and that the code of working rules should be adopted. Evideuce is now being taken.
