The Transvaal Raid.

(Per Press Association.) London, April 3At a sitting of tbe Transvaal Raid Committee, Sir John Willoughby declined to state the substance of the private letter to the War Office. Mr Labouchere thereupon described tbe committee as a farce aud declared it was hushing up everything. Sir John Willoughby told the officers participating in the raid that neither the War Office, the Imperial Government, nor the Chartered Company would bother if the undertaking was successfull. The claim made by the Transvaal in connection with the Jamesen raid in eluded ,£426,120 as compensation to the Burghers, who were "commanded" to resist the raid aud one million for moral damage to the Republic.
