TfKOM OUJB OWN COfIBESPONDENT. | A large number of friends assembled in tho Town Hall on Thursday evening to bid farewell to the Rev. W. Keall, who is leaving to take charge of the Blenheim circuit. A very enjoyabie evening was spent in social talk, interspersed with musical selections, and Messrs D. W. Low and J. H. J. Bowater, in a few happy words, expressed the thanks of the congregation to Mr Keall for conducting his pastorship so ably while in this circuit, and Wishing him long life and success wherever he may 1 be. The following ladies and gentlemen contributed to the musical portion of I the programme :— Misses Young, Hammond (2), Mesdames Penney, Wood, and Pearce, and Messrs Penney, Carty, Opie, and Gifford (2) ; the choir also contrU buted three anthems ; Miss Hammond, Mrs Pearce, and Mr S. S. Moore played the accompaniments. Refreshments were handed round, and tbe meeting concluded with the choir singing " God be with you." Football here has taken a new lease of life. At the general meeting held last week Mr S. H. Wrigley was elected secretary and treasurer, and under tbe captainship of Mr F. Purnell oar boya, are going to make things " hum " this season.
