Mr McMillan, who met with the acci^ dent lately as previously reported, has deemed it necessary to seek medical advice in Wellington, and left for that city to gain admission to the hospital there r. few days since. Improvements are the order of the day j in Apiti. Mr Uarragh haa just had j erected in front of his store a large verandah. An unsightly place is being filled up in the vicinity of the post office store. Mr J. Sullivan contemplates making , improvements in tho Apiti Hotel. Mr F. S. Eagar is building a dwellinghouse in the township, and Mr A. Dick ; has just built two dwelling-houses. ; Mr Parsons, blacksmith, is about to erect n, new shop. A newly-married couple arrived in the townsnip last evening (Wednesday), aud were accompanied to their residence on Table Flat by a band of sereoaders who were heard from far and near. The happy couple were Mr and Mrs Miller who had just returned from Blenheim, where they were married. Mr J. Buckman has the contract for erecting three sale yards for Messrs Chas. Carr and Co., one at Apiti, one at Birmingham, and one at Rangiwahia.
