Christchcrch, March J7. Daring the past few days a number of primo samples of wheat have been offered, the bulk of -which have been taken by local millers at well up to quotations. In spite of this, the market shows an easier tendency generally, and the prospects for the immediate future are not reassuring to growers. The following are the current prices for new grain: — Wheat — Pearl (prime milling), 4s ; velvet chaff, 4s ; Tuscan and Hunter's 3a 3d to 3s lOd : good seconds, clean, 3s to 8s 3d. Oass— Milling, Canadians. 2s Id ; stout feed and tartars, 2s ; dans, Is lOd to 2s ; Danish, Is lOd to Is lid. Barley— Malting, 3s 3d to 4s ; medium, 3s to 3s 6d. Floor — Millers quote roller £11 10s ; stone, £10 10s. Sharps, £3 ss ; bran, £2 10s ; oatmeal, £11 103 ; oatsheaf chaff, 42s 6d to 45s (at handy country stations) for good samples. Beans, 2s 7d to 2s Bd. Peas Blue Prussians. 3s 6d to 3s 9d ; partridpe, 3s. Potatoes— Der wen ts, 85s to 37s (id, at country stations ; kidneys and Early Rose, £2 10s at Christchurch. Grass seed — Ryegrass, farmers, lots, 2s 3d to 2s lOd ; machine-dressed, 3s 9d ; heavy-wGisht, 4s to 4s 3d ; cocksfoot, farmers' lines, discoloured, 3d to 3yd ; bright seed, 3 id to 3fd; town machinedressed, 4^cl to sd. Dairy produce — Cheese, 3d to 4d ; loaf, 3£d to 4id. Butter— Fresh factory, 9d ; prime dairy, 6d to 8d ; salt (in boxes), 5d to 7d. Bacon and bams, 6£d to 7£d
