(Per Press Association.) Athkxs, March IR. The Crown Prince of Greece has been placed in command of the Greek troops in Thessaly. The insurgents and Greeks bold the entire interior of Crete. The Moslems are besieged by the Cretan insurgents at Kiassamo and Castelli. The Turks pillaged the Christian villages outside of Retimo. The defective closing of the broech of a gun caused the explosion oq the Russian cruiser Cissioveliki. Several of those injured have since died, and the total deaths are 21. Colonel Vassos has been ordered to entrench at Sphakia, a small island close to the south coast of Greece. London, Mareli 18. The First Battalion of Seaforth Highlanders, stationed at Malta, has been sent fco Crete. Sir William Vernon Harcourt, in a speech at Norwich, referring to the action of the Powers towards Greece, said that the Powers had might, but Greece had right, and Lord Salisbury was covering Britain with shame. Sydney, This Day. A number of Greek residents in the city offered the Consul to pay their own passages to Greece, in order to fight for her in the effort to deliver Crete from the Turks. The Consul considers it is unfair of the Powers to try to coerce Greece for attempting to preyent mi3rule and cruelty to her own flesh and blood in Crete.
