o(Per Press Association.) London, March 14. The Powers are considering the advisability of issuing a further note to Greece on the Cretan question. Athens, March 15. Reports from Canea state that sharp fighting has taken place on tbe heights above the town. The Turkish Governor sent a request to the Porte to send arms for the refugees. The Greek Government has ordered two warships to remain in Cretan waters. The Italian commander has demanded the arrest of the leaders of the recent mutiny of gendarmes, one of whom is attached to tbe British Consulate. March 15. The Turks are pillaging the houses of the Christians at Crete. Sir Billiobi has been ordered to pro- 1 claim autonomy in the Island. The Porte has declared it is willing to withdraw its troops from the towns protected by the troops of the Powers as soon as the Greek troops evacuate. The Powers decided to blockade Crete forthwith, and will extend the blockade to Greece in the event of that country proving obdurate. Franco hesitates to enter upon coercion. Admiral Reinickc, the Greek Naval Commander, denies he abstained from warning the Cretan insurgents that the Powers would bombard the position if they threatened Canea. The King of Greece has ordered the Greek gunboats, the Pereus and Alphei sas, to resist expulsion from Cretan waters by the vessels of the Powers.
