J. CU.UXO V* O V¥ 9a O A very enjoyable match was played between the Marton and Feilding tennis representatives on Saturday last. Play was started at 11 o'clock, and continued until 5.30 p.m. An adjournment was made for luncheon at 1 o'clock, and during the afternoon tea was dispensed by Mrs Hill and tho Misses Goodbehere, assisted by other ladies of the clnb, to a large number of onlookers, and was duly appreciated by them as well as by tbe players, Wben tbe last contest started Feilding was two games ahead, but Marton won the contest by five games and thus carried the day by three games. Tbe finish was most exciting, as every stroke was important at such a critical time. The Marton ladies did good service for their side, and won the match for Marton. This is tbe first match which has been played between these teams for some years, and it is to be hoped it will not be tbe last but that it may become an annual fixture.
