Our Defences.
v - — (Per Press Association.) Sydney, This Day. Admiral Bridge in an interview with regard to the defences of New Zealand, aaid their condition waa much the same as tha other colonies from the striking insufficiency of men. The defences are in admirable order and beautifully kept. reflecting the highest credit on those in charge, but one was perpetually haunted by tbe question, what is the good of all tbis if there are not enough of proper men to man them ?
