SENDING A KIFLE TEAM HOME. (Per Press Association.) Wanganui, This Day. Major Sommerville is trying to organs ise a rifle team for the Queen's celebrations on a basis of two men from each large centre and one from Invercargill, Oamaru, Nelson, Napier, Wanganui, New Plymouth, Master ton, aud Woodville. It is understood the Government will assist. The members of the New Zealand Rifle Association Council have been asked to consult the mayors of each borough, and call a meeting. As the time is short immediate action is necessary. The estimated cost is about £100 for each man.
