Local and General News. The fortnightly meeting of the Odd* fellows' Lodge will be held this evening. Additions are made to the entries for Messrs Abraham and Williams' Pohangina sale. Mr R. L. Stanford, S.M., has been ap* pointed Registrar of the Supreme Court at New Plymouth. A paper parcel containing the Musical Times and Loeschhorn Etudes progressives, has been left at this office. The Assessment Court for the Borough of Feilding will be held in the Court House, Feilding, on Tharsday the 18th instant. A reward will be paid at the Star office for retnrn of a socket and spring of a buggy lamp, lost between Feilding and the Spur road, The Manchester Rifles had a good muster la_t night. Capt Kirton, Lients Barltrop and Lethbridge were also in attendance. Some useful instruction was given by Lieut Barltrop. New Zealand war medals have been issued to Private Emanuel De Castro, New Zealand (Taranaki) ; and Militia Bugle Major Henry Homeyer, No. 1 J Company, Turaaaki ftiiie Volunteers. I
