Mr Chamberlain's despatch suggests subjects such as commerce witn the colonies, and legislation with regard to ' immigrants' from Asia and elsewhere, for discussion by the colonial Premiers. It is not anticipated that the duration of the actual ceremonies in connection ; with tbe celebration will extend beyond a week, but Mr Chamberlain is disposed , to think that fonr or fire weeks might be profitably employed in discussing the questions mentioned and other objects . for the advancement of the colonial Empire. —I __
