On Sunday last three services were held in the new church, and were conducted by the Rev G. Clement. The church was filled at each service, in tbe evening many being unable to get in. Tbe banquet nr>d public meeting were held on Wed les^ay. It is not often that a repast of the kind is provided ; it was indertd v banquet. The church was crowded at the public meeting, numbers being i urned away unable to get inside. The meeting was presided over by the Rev J. Cocker, and addresses were de» livered by the Revs S- Barnet, G. Grindley, J. Muirbead, and J. Quintrell. The choir, under the able leadership of Mr Tobeck, and assisted by Mr Grace and other friends from Palmerston, rendered some musical selections in a splendid manner. Miss Jarvis presided at the organ. Great credit is due to the friends who have worked so hard in con« nection with the erection and opening of the church, which is a beautiful building. Votes of thanks to all those who had helped, especirtlly the nonmembers of the church, brought a very succesiful and enthusiastic meeting to a close.
