At about 6 o'clock yesterday morning some considerable activity was noticeable ' ob the summit of Mount Tongariro, im- ] mediately above the Ketetahi steam-hole, j It is thought by those who know the locality well that it is the Bed Crater in ? eruption. It is situated at the north- * western end of the top of Tongarira and j has been silent for a good many years. A dark cloud was deicernible above the j density of the clouds which have prevailed : lately. <
