(Per Press Association.) DuNKDrN, Febuary 27. The Queens Drive Boating Club intend, despite recent defeats, to send crews to take part in the Championship Regatta at Picton at Easter. A freehold city property with a frontage to High street of 47ft 4in by a depth of 80ft, with some offices thereon, realised £4000 to day at auction. Christchurch, February 27. The annual convautiou of the New Zealand Women's Christian Temperance Union was held yesterday, Mrs Schnacken berg presiding. Reports from 23 local unions in various parts of the Colony showed that during the year they have raised £1898 and spent £1609, leaving a balance in hand of L 389. Auckland, February 27. The new chairman of the Harbour Board, Mr Napier, has given notice that he will move at the next meeting of the Board that the Finance and Legal Committee bo requested to report to the Board upon the qnestion of suitable site for an Admiralty House, and to submit such data as will enable the Board to determine the best means of procuring such a house. March 1. The Government steamer Tntanekai leaves for the northern lighthouses. From the Bay of Islands she poes to the Kermadecs to overhaul the stores there, and to search for castaways or wreckage. George W, Gilmer, clerk in the employ of the Northern Steamship Company, was arrested st Aratapu, and charged at the Police Court with the theft of L 65, the property of tne Company and remanded. The late Louis Ehrenfried bequeathed LSOO for the distressed Jews, LSOO for the poor of Auckland and Thames. All his employes of over five years service will be remembered in his will. John Henry Smith, arrested in Adelaide, wais brought up at the Police Court, charged with the desertion of his wife and family. He was committed for trial. Wellington, February 28. While Mr Price, jun., of Ngahauranga, was yarding some horses on Saturday they broke away, and in attempting to round them up his horse collided with a telegraph pole and he was thrown on his head in the Ngabauranga stream. Dr Grace attended to him and found that he was suffering from concussion of the brain. March 1. The Conference of Railway Employes' Executive, which was convened for the 10th inst., will probably be adjourned for another week. Invercabgill, March 1. The fnvercargill Garrison Band has decided to accept an offer of £50 towards the expense of going to Melbourne at Easter to take part in the contest at the Druid's Gala. The offer was made by Mr Brennan, Hon. Sec. of the Order.
