The Queealand National Bank.
(Per Press Association.) London, Feb. 26. A largely attended informal meeting oi the creditors of the Queensland National Bank was held to-day, Sir Edward Dawes presiding. The meeting had been called at the instance of the Depositors' Commutes, the members of whioh frankly said tbey did not like the scheme proposed, but preferred that depositors should judge for themselves. Several creditors made violent attacks on the Queensland Government. After a long discussion a motion was carried declaring that it was tbe duty of the Government of Queensland to nominate one of the life members of tbe Board at Brisbane, and if the Government refused, then the proposal should be so amended as to provide for three depositors as directors. The resolution went on to say that the meeting could only recommend tbe depositors to assent to the scheme on tbese conditions. Febtuary 27. Several of the newspapers censure the board of the Queensland National Bank and the Government. The Economist considers tha depositors have been befooled by the board and misled by the Government.
