The Queen's Record Reign.
o VOLUNTEERS TO GO TO ENGLAND. (Per Press Association.) Wakapuaka, February 28. The Nelson Colonist states (apparently on authority) that it bas been decided to send to England twenty privates and eight officers to be selected from the Mounted Rifle corps in the Colony to take part in the demonstrations in celebration of Her Majesty's record reign. The man selected will receive a month's drill at Wellington prior to their departure. They will not take their horses i with tbem, tbe English Government undertaking to supply them with horses while at Home. London, February 25. The colonial riflemen who are about to visit England will be allowed to compete in the Imperial rifle shooting contests, as well as the general matches at Bisley. Mr Chamberlain, Secretary of State for the Colonies, has urged the authorities to expedite tbe Imperial shooting contests, so tbat picked shots from tbe Australian riflemen visiting the Bisley meeting may be enobled to remain and take part in them. ____________________
