Wellington Wool Sales.

Messrs Murray, Roberta and Co. report — The various brokers offered about 2500 bales, towards which total we contributed 500 bales. As is usually the ease towards the end of the season, the quality of the wool submitted showed a marked falling off from previous sales and the catalogues contained a larger proportion of bushstained and seedy wools from tbe back country districts. Taking quality and condition into account, we have little change in values to report from last sale. Any bright well-skirted lines of crossbred wools free of seed were well competed for at 7d to 7£d ; extra light in grease a shade higher. Inferior and stained wools which, as already mentioned, comprised the bulk of the offerings, barely maintained last sales prices. Locks and pieces ware again in good demand at previous rates. Deep lustrous lambs' wool sold up to 7\, but seedy and dingy lambs were neglected. Where possible, farmers would do well to shear their lambs before the bidi-bidi ripens, as the presence of this weed materialy depreciates the value of lambs' wool. The range of prices current yesterday was— Good Lincoln 1 and crossbred, 7d to 7f d ; medium do., I6d to 6£d ; inferior do., 4d to s£d ; good crossbred lambs, 6£d to 7}d ; inferior and seedy lambs, 5d to 6d ; pieces and bellies 3\ to 4±d; locks, l£d to 2fd. Messrs Levin and Co. report: — We offered a catalogue of 600 bales to the usual attendance of buyers. The wool generally was not in good condition, much of it being log- stained and affected with bidi-bidi. Prices were on a level with the January sale, with exception of lamb wool for which there was practically no demand. We quote as under — Prims lustrous crossbred, 7|d to 7jd ; medium, 6£d to 7Jd ; log-stained, 5d to 6}d ; locks, lid to 3-1 d ; pieces. 8d to£d,
