The market opened in Sydney by Mr Greenaway, director of the Sash and Door Company, and Mr Henderson of Danvirkft, will be watched with interest. The first shipment of timber will, it is expected, be forwarded to Sydney in About six or seven weeks' time, and will be followed by regular shipments, so that the venture will start under conditions which Bhould ensure a successful issue. Many of the timbers available here would be greatly prized in Australia, so all thnt it needed is that regular supplies be forwarded. This important development of the timber trade should mean a good deal to this distriot, and our readers should wish the promoters every success in their enterprise. It a steady profitable price can be obtained in Australia for the prodnet of our sawmills there will be a marked revival of activity in the industry, wbicb will bare a direct bearing on the district's prosperity.— Standard.
