The Stock Market.
Messrs F. R. Jackson and Co. report: — We had a fairly large sale at the Si. Hill yards today, (Wednesday). Cattle were doll, so we did not sell All that offered. Sheep were well competed for on the whole, resulting in all being sold, with the exception of one small pen, at the quotations below. Pigs were sold at last sale's values. Cattle— Store steers, jE2 to £2 16b; cows, £2 : yearlings, 28s 6d. Sheep— Fat wethers, 8s Id to 8s 8d ; forward stores, 7s to 7s Sd ; 2-tooth ewes, 6a ; ewes, 4* to 5s Id : hoggets, 6s lOd to 6s ; shorn lambs, 8s Id to 8s 3d : fat ewes, 5s 5d to 6s 7d ; old colls, lOd. Pigs— Good pork, 19s to 935 ; porkers, 15s to 16s 6d ; smaller pigs, 9s 3d to 11s ; young pigs, 8s 3d to 5b 6d. Poultry— Ducks 2s 6d to 3s Bd, fowls, 2a to 3s 6d the couple.
