The Minister for Agriculture for New South Wales bag approved of a I proposal made by the Board of Exports to offer a number of special prizes, open to all the Australasian colonies for exhibits of produce of various kinds suitable for export, exhibited at the next Agricultural Show in Sydney. The prizes to be offered comprise the following :■— Butter for Export— Prize £50. Best Exhibit ot five boxes of butter suitable for export. The conditions of competition are that each exhibit shall consist of five boxes, each of 56 lb net weight. Poultry for export— Prize £50. Best exhibit of two cases of ducks and fowls suitable for export j 20 birds in each case packed for export. Sheep for export- -(1) Best exhibit of 25 merino wethers, not exceeding six-tooth, first prize £20, second prize £5. (2) Beat exhibit of 25 crossbred wethers, not exceeding four- tooth, first prize £20, second prize £5. (3) Best exhibit of 25 merino lambs,: suckers not exceeding five months, firsb prize £15, second prize £5. (4) Best exhibit of 25 crossbred lambs, suckers not exceeding four months, first prize £15, second £5. Wheat for export. — First prize £15, second prize £10. Best exhibit of wheat, 4-bußhel sack, representing a bulk of not lessthan 100 sacks suitable for export. The grower to sell 100 sacksequal to exhibit by public auction during the show if called on to do so by written notice delivered through the secretary, and failing to supply such quantity equal to sample he shall forfeit any prize which may have been awarded. Barley for export. — First prize £15, second prize £10. Best exhibit of barley suitable for malting, 4 -bushel sack, representing a bulk of not "less than 50 sacks. The other conditions are the same as for wheat. Bacon and hams tor Export.— First prize £10, second £5. Best exhibit of 20 hams and 12 sides of bacon suitable for export. Meats and soups for export. — First prize £10, second £5. Best exhibit ; of six dozen tins of colonial meata i and soups suitable for export, assorted. 1 Fruit for export. — First prize £10 [ second prize £5 in each section. 1. Best exhibit of not less than 10 distinct varieties of dried fruit suitable for export, packed in cases of not lew than 231bs each. 2. Best exhibits of 24 distinct varieties of preserved fruits in syrup, packed suitable for export in glass jars of not less than two quarts capacity each.
