After a searching enquiry the stewards of the Feilding Jockey Club have decided not to pay out the stakes to Gold Cup, tire winner of The Shorts and Railway Handicaps, run on the second day of the Spring Meeting, Dec. 3 last, on the ground of inconsistent running and the stakes will, therefore, go to J. P Belcher's Sedgobrook, the second borne, iv thu former event and A. Smith's Erraul Boy in the latter event. In <:ouse<[Uence of the investigation, Gold Cup, A. Nopera, the owner, and Cuneen the trainer were disqualified for twelve months and D. Watts, the rider, was cautioned.
