The Maritime Strike.

(Per Press Association.) Sydney, January 3. The executive of the Engineers' Association met to-day, aud passed a resolution approving of the staud taken in Melbourne. It is now a matter of certainty that the strike will extend to New South Wales. The Engineers' Institute membership is about 1000, with very large reserve lundß. This Day. The meeting of Engineers last night did little beyond passing a motion of confidence in their officers. However, there is every probability of a satisfactory result being reached to day. At a meeting of the (Seamen's Union it was reported to members that the crews of a number of vessels bad received twenty four hours notice they were not required. This coarse was' rendered necessary to prevent the Engineers' strike being prolonged.
