(By our Special Reporter.) The Manawatu Cycling (Jlub held their annual race meeting on the Sports Association ground on New Year's Day. There was but a moderate attendance of the public. The arrangements were perfect, and the starter, Mr I. Fake, got his men away capitally under the time handicaps. F. Hunt, the popular Marton rider, had a " day out," winning seven races. Following are the results : — One Mile Maiden— P. Keegan, ssecs, 1 ; W. Freeman, ssecs, 2 ; J. it. Wingate, 2secs, 3. Also started — E. C. Howard scr, H. A. Symonds scr. Won easily by 20yds, Wingate 10yds away. Time, 2minß 49secs. One Mile Roadster— F. Hunt, scr, 1 ; P. Keegan, 15secs, 2 ; J. R. Wingate, 14 sees, 3 ; W. Noonan, 12secs, 4. Only starters. Good race and close finish, a machine's length between each of the riders. Time, 2min 51 4-sth sees. I One Mile Open— F. Hunt, scr, 1; S. Thacker, Ssecs, 2 ; T. Kitchen, saecs, 3. Also started — J. McDowell ssecs, H. Lyons Ssecs, C. Burton 6secs, J. A. Lisle Bsecs, J. R. Wingate 13secs. Fine finish between placed men, Wingate a good fourth other men completely out of running. Time, 2min 53secs. Club Handicap, one mile— Kitchen, scr, 1 ; W. H. Lewis, 6secs, 2 ; Wingate, 12secs, 3. Also started — Keegan 9secs, Freeman 14secs, Osgood 16secs, Dunderdale 25sec8. Won by 10yds, Wingate 15yds from Kitchen ; Dunderdale fell at the start. Time, 3mm 15 2 sth sees. Three Mile Roadster — Hunt, scr, 1; Keegan, 45secs, 2 ; Noonan, 42secs, 3. Two Mile Wheel Race — Hunt, 2secs behind scratch, 1 ; Lyon, llsecs, 2 ; S. Thacker, 6secs, 3. Seven started. Time smin 51 l-4th sees. Half Mile Open— Hunt 1, Thacker 2, Dawson 3. Twelve started. Time, lmin 21 2-sth sees. Bracelet, 1£ miles — Hunt 1, McDowell 2, Tarrant 3. Five started. Five Mile Open— Hunt 1, McDowell 2, Kitchen 3. Time, 15mms 11 4 sth sees.
