The Crisis in Turkey.
o (Pear Press Association.) Constantinople, Dec. 24. The Armenian patriarch has refused to admit hi& compatriots are solely responsible for the troubles. He professed himself satisfied witb the reforms offered aud did not desire foreign assistance. He declined to guarantee entire cessation of the agitation and preferred to resign instead, but tbe Sultan refused to allow him to do so. Five hundred members of tbe New Tnrkey Party, arrested in tbe city, refused to give their names and tbey were only revealed nnder torture Ijondon, Dec. 26. Tbe French and Italian Embassies at Alexandretta have asked tbeir respective Governments to send squadrons there, to be ready to take action in the event of an acquittal aud tbe granting of an amnesty to Maghar, tbe murderer of Father Salvatore.
