The Stock Market.
Messrs Abraham and Williams report — We concluded the year's operations with sales at Pahiatua and Palmerston. On i'uesday at the former place, sheep mustered freely and wero a useful class throughout. There was a firm tone at quotations. Cattle, in short supply, were without enquiry. 2-tooth ewes, 5a lOd ; 2 and 4-toofch wethers, 59 lOd to 6s 9d ; shorn ewes with lambs at foot (in tbe wool) 8s 9d ; culls, 3s 3d. At Palmerston on Thursday cattle, were in fewer numbers ; female stock dull of sale. Younger steers were somewhat easier in price, larger sorts much on a par with late sales. Sbeep, in moderate numbers, met with a quiet demand, but all lots were disposed of. Prime fat wethers, 8s 3d ; forward do., 7a 4d ; prime fat ewes, 6s ; crossbred wethers, small sorts, 4s 6d ; fresh heifers, 355 ; 18-months steers, £2 10s ; 3-year bullocks, £'6 19s 6d ; fat bullocks, £5 10s ; fat cows, £3 10s.
