A Schoolmaster Censured.
HE KISSES THE TEACHERS. As is pretty generally known (says the Hawera Star) an enquiry hag been pro. ceeding at Hawera School during tbe past week or ten days. The taking of j evidence was finished last night, and the r Committee sat till 1 a.m. To-day copies _ of the resolution to be forwarded to the Education Board were furnished to the solicitors for the respective parties as t under:— ] Hawera School Committee. Re Charge Against Mr Strack, H.M. To the Chairman and mt* tubers of the Education Board. j Gentlemen, —l have to conyey to you r the following finding of my committee, which is as follows, —viz. : — " Tbat the Committee having gone fully into the charges preferred against Mr Strack, are of opinion that tbe charges are not substantial, but we consider Mr j Strack has shown indiscretion by having ] on several occasions kissed some of the j teachers. " The Committee abo find that owing - to the charges having been preferred ( considerable friction does now exi9t ■ amongst the teachers. Therefore it will be necessary for a change to be made in the Staff at an early date."— l have &c, B. C. Bobbins, Chairman. Hawera, December 17th, 1896.
