.*- (Per Press Association.) London, Dec. 18. The death is announced of H. H. Scephenson, tbe well-known English cricketer, who was a member of one ol the early teams to Australia. Sir Jas. Fergusson had a serious fall from bis bicycle, the force of the blow rendering him senseless. Miss Brookes brought an action for libel against Truth for accusing her of imposture and writing begging letters. The jury stopped the case, and brought in a verdict for the defendant.
