« (Per Press Association.) Invekcargill, Dec. 16. Mr Joseph Rogers, of Glenquoich Station, tbe oldest runholder in Southland, is dead, aged 65. Auckland, Dec. 16. Mr William Percival, secretary of the Auckland Racing Club, was thrown out of his sulky to-day on to his head on the metalled roadway in Welesley street. He has received internal injuries, Napier, Dec. 17. Henry Burton, wanted for wife desertion at Wellington, was captured by Detective Chrystall to-day after an exciting chase through the principal streets of the town. Prisoner will be forwarded Jou by the Anglian to Wellington in charge of tbat officer.
